Halloween

Posted by Robert and Monica Castillo

This Halloween was one of the best ever! For weeks before, we all had been preparing, getting the house decorated, buying costumes and candy. Robert would be home to trick or treat with us, so the kids were excited....but then Robert got called down to the fires in San Diego. The kids were afraid dad wouldn't be home for Halloween and I was just afraid. The first few days we didn't get to talk much and I really didn't know where he was. The kids and I did alot of praying for him, the firefighters, and the families affected by the fires. I was glued to the TV, in hopes of seeing his engine to make sure he was alright. But in true Robert style, he would call and tell me, "Babe, I'm cheatin' death and saving lives!" Which means I'm okay and digging fire lines. As for the kids, they were hoping dad would be home for Trick or Treating, and of course,in Robert style, he came home late on the Eve of Halloween. So this is why this was the best Halloween ever!
Arianna was superman, Nathanael was a teenage mutant ninga turtle, and Gabe was a cowboy. We trick or treated late into the night until Nathanael said " Ok guys I'm done with this." When we got home he called his Grammy and she asked him, " Were your Donatello for Halloween?" Nathanael said, "no Grammy I'm Nathanael!" Then she said, " You weren't a teenage mutant ninga turtle?" and he said, "no Grammy, I'm a boy!" I thought I was going to pee my pants I was laughing so hard.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Hey Y'all

Posted by Robert and Monica Castillo

I know I don't get to see everyone that often, or for that matter get to call and keep in touch so I thought this would be a fun and interesting way to let everyone know that we are doing great up here in Fresno! Rob, of course is working hard and providing wonderfully for our family, while I stay home and take care of our muchkins.
Arianna is now in seventh grade and doing really good in school (we just got her progress report.... all A's and one B). She is busy with cheerleading, bible study, and boxing. Yup, I said boxing. Her dad thought it would be great way for her to exercise and build some good ol' self esteem. Apparently all the boys are scared now :) Nathanael is my silly boy. Always making jokes, and having a good time. He told his Sunday school teacher, "See ya Homies!!!" I thought I was going to pass out right on the spot. Since he is staying home with me I decided I would start teaching him the basics of school. We know red, and orange, the letter A and B. He really enjoys learning and is always asking me, "when can I go to preschool?" Gabriel, well he's a whole different story. That boy keeps me on my toes. He loves to steal stuff from his brother and sister and make a run for it. Yesterday, I was watching him try to wrestle the dog down. He had her by the tail and was laughing and when I told him to stop he looked at me and made a run for it (don't ask me where he thinks he's going). Poor Siemper, she just takes it like a champ, God has a special place for her in heaven, I just know it.
Well I guess that pretty much sums up the happenings at the Casa de los Castillo's. Just in case anyone's wondering, yes it is always crazy and frantic in our house, but we love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
